This article is about the character. For the game, see Alundra (game).

Alundra is the main protagonist of the first game in the series. Alundra is of the Elna; a clan of elfin ‘Dreamwalkers’. He is often referred to as "Releaser" by many of the games characters including the demon Melzas. As a silent protagonist, Alundra's personality is unclear, as is his past, however the in game characters perceive him as kind and gentle.

Appearance[]

Alundra has long red hair tied up in a ponytail, blue eyes and pointy elf like ears. He wears a blue shirt with a white undershirt and a silver breastplate with brown leather straps. On his back he wears a brown backpack. He also wears white trousers and brown knee high boots. On his forehead he has a scar that foretells he is the one who is both blessed and cursed with the power of the Elna.

Alundra’s Abilities[]

Alundra is an Elna, a race of people able to enter the minds and dreams of others. This ability is deemed a great threat by the various deities that occupy the world of Alundra and therefore attracts their unwanted attention and they try to scupper his efforts to save the village.

Alundra is skilled with a variety of weapons such as daggers, bows, swords, flails and an array of other tools he collects on his journey. When he initially arrives in Inoa Village, he wields only a dagger and amasses an array of different weapons on his quest.

Alundra’s Story[]

For more details on the story of Alundra, see here.

Alundra's journey begins when in a dream he is told by Lars that a demon sleeps beneath the lake north of Inoa village. While aboard The Klark, the great demon Melzas unleashes a powerful storm that destroys the ship, however this allows Alundra to wash up on the shores of Torla; right where he needed to be.

After being rescued by the local blacksmith Jess, Alundra eventually learns the village is in utter turmoil. Though Alundra is still unclear on what his quest entails, he decides to assist the villagers after learning of the abilities of the Elna from a scholar named Septimus who realises that Alundra himself has the power to cure the nightmares plaguing the villagers after recognising a scar on Alundra’s forehead from one of his books depicting Alundra as the chosen one who is both blessed and cursed.

Later in the game, Alundra discovers Lars' Crypt, and ventures deep within to meet the spirit of the scholar himself. Lars explains the purpose of Alundra’s adventure and the reason why he was chosen to travel to Torla. Alundra has been summoned to confront and defeat the demon Melzas before he can regain his lost power. Lars goes on to explain that Alundra must locate the seven Crests from the Guardians of the Seals in order to raise Melzas' palace, and confront the demon.

As Alundra journey’s to find the Guardians, he is confronted by Melzas' many attempts to stop him, and fights, largely in vain, to save the lives of many of the villagers. However, using his powers, Alundra is able to save some of the villagers, collect the crests, put a stop to the attempts of the Murgg on the village, and raises Melzas’ shrine.

Inside, Alundra confronts the great demon Melzas and eventually defeats and destroys him completely. In the games ending, he is seen to remain in Inoa for some time, helping to rebuild the village. The horrors of his ordeal continue to haunt him and he finds it difficult to sleep and often recalls the challenges he faced on his adventure. Alundra and Meia eventually depart Inoa for reasons unknown. After travelling together for a while, they eventually go their separate ways and Alundra goes in search of other adventures.
